Guest Motor Group Sets Concrete Plans in Motion for BP Mitchell’s Fleet Expansion
Guest Motor Group, one of the UK’s largest IVECO and Fiat Professional dealerships, has announced a deal supplying a fleet of nine IVECO X-WAY trucks to BP Mitchell, a leading concrete and aggregates provider based in Hertfordshire.
A Strategic Upgrade for BP Mitchell
BP Mitchell, founded in 1994, has grown into a major player in the construction sector, providing services such as ready-mix concrete, aggregates supply, and site clearance. Operating from its central Hertfordshire base, the company benefits from strategic access to major motorways, enabling efficient service delivery across London and the Home Counties.
BP Mitchell’s latest acquisition includes four bespoke nine-cubic-metre concrete trucks and five tipper trucks, solidifying their operational efficiency and capacity to meet customer demands. The mixers are from the Guest Motor Group site-ready vehicle stock, which also includes sweepers and tippers, ensuring rapid availability for its clients.
These IVECO X-WAY's were chosen for their cost-efficiency, driver appeal, and weight advantages, addressing the demanding needs of the construction and aggregates industry. The new addition to the fleet is set to enhance BP Mitchell’s operations by ensuring reliable, efficient deliveries across their service area.
The IVECO X-WAY mixer chassis, designed for versatility, features a 420 brake horsepower engine, eight-speed automatic gearbox, and an 8x4 configuration. This design provides superior off-road and on-road capabilities, with the rear axles driven and the front two steered. The lightweight construction enables significant payload capacity, allowing BP Mitchell to maximise concrete deliveries while minimising operational costs.
Technical Innovations Supporting Operational Excellence
The new trucks come fully equipped with a Progressive Safety System, installed by Vehicle Lining Services. The kit includes 6 cameras, front and nearside radars, strobe lights, audible alarms and other safety enhancements, making them ready for operation in urban areas. The Camera system provides all round coverage of the vehicle, as well as the driver and inside the tipping body. Additionally, the fleet is fitted with advanced telematics through the IVECO ON platform, delivering real-time performance data, predictive maintenance alerts, and remote diagnostics. These innovations ensure reduced downtime and lower maintenance costs. BP Mitchell’s in-house workshops handle regular servicing and preventive maintenance, supported by Guest Motor Group’s five-year bumper-to-bumper warranty for added peace of mind.
Guest Motor Group: Delivering Excellence
Sales specialist Tony Simmons from Guest Motor Group's Peterborough branch looked after the deal. Group MD Robert Spittle said: "We understand that our customers’ businesses depend on the reliability and efficiency of their fleets and BP Mitchell’s decision to transition part of their fleet from another brand to the IVECO X-WAY reflects the confidence operators have in these vehicles. The weight savings, fuel efficiency, and competitive pricing make them a standout choice for construction and aggregate transport.”
BP Mitchell operates nearly 130 vehicles across its fleet, supported by a dedicated team that manages in-house maintenance and repair. Brendan Mitchell, the company’s founder, remains actively involved in daily operations, exemplifying the hands-on approach that has driven the company’s success and the attention to the detail of the commercial fleet, plant and equipment his company relies on to deliver exceptional service.
